Second tallest building, currently under construction in Shenzhen, China. Ping An Finance Center designed by Kohn Pedersen Associates.

This impressive modern skyscraper is going to scrap the sky at 660m (2165ft) with 115 floors, taking the crown of world's second tallest from Shanghai's Shanghai Tower. Right across the street is planned hotel tower 307m (1007ft) with 66 floors. The main office tower and hotel tower will be connected with the bridge above streets.

From KPF Architects:

"Located in Shenzhen’s new CBD, the Ping An Finance Center will be Shenzhen’s tallest building. With over 100 office floors and a large podium containing retail and conference program, PAFC will become the physical and iconic center of Shenzhen’s burgeoning CBD. Located on Lot 1 of the Futian District, at the southwest corner of the intersection of Yi Tian Road and Fu Hua Road, PAFC will connect to neighboring commercial and residential properties, as well as to Shenzhen Line 1 Gou Wu Gong Yuan metro station.

The iconic stone and glass tower will rise at the northeast corner of the site, anchoring the development. The tower’s four principle façades will be sheathed in chevron-shaped stone verticals which will extend from the building’s base. These stone verticals will house perimeter columns and be stitched together at the tower’s four corners by eight-storey diagonal braces.

The tower will be connected to a podium containing retail and conference program to the south. Sheathed in glass and stone, the building will be defined by a large central atrium, which will serve as both a public vestibule and a sun-lit space for meeting, shopping and dining. Five floors of retail shops will terrace away from the tower, forming a large amphitheatre-like space—the new center for the CBD."
